Pros & Cons

Pros

["Dark Step is accessible early in the game, being obtainable in the First Sea, making it a good starting fighting style for new players.", "It is relatively affordable with a cost of 150,000 money, allowing players to acquire it without excessive grinding.", "As a leg-based fighting style, it offers unique combat moves that can be effective for close-range battles.", "Dark Step is available across all seas (First, Second, and Third), so players can continue using and upgrading it as they progress.", "It provides decent mobility and speed, helping players dodge attacks or close gaps during fights."]

Cons

["Dark Step lacks the versatility of other fighting styles, as it focuses primarily on leg-based attacks, limiting combat options.", "Its damage output is lower compared to more advanced fighting styles available later in the game.", "The moveset can feel repetitive over time, potentially making combat less engaging for long-term players.", "It may struggle against opponents with ranged or high-damage abilities, as it is more suited for close combat.", "Upgrading or replacing Dark Step with stronger styles becomes necessary in higher seas, reducing its long-term usefulness."]

Trivia

Dark Step is considered to be the best fighting style for grindingauramastery.
If the user uses[V] Overheatand goes intoLight's[F] Light Flight, the flames will get all messed up.
If[V] Overheatis used over 100 times, the user will have both legs on fire upon using it again, similar toDeath Step's [V] move which doesn't have a requirement for both legs to be on fire and has it from the start upon use.
If the user uses[V] Overheat, and then switches to another fighting style, the user's legs will still be on fire without an expiration timer. Hence, it is possible to get both flame legs and flame fists by activating the move and equippingDragon Talon. This effect only gets removed if the player dies or rejoins, and it is purely cosmetic if they switch to another fighting style. The expiration timer is however restored if using the [V] move again.
The damage multiplier is only applied while using Dark Step orDeath Step's moves, so the user cannot use this to get extra damage on other moves.
If the player has Dark Step orDeath Stepequipped, theirAurastages will start at their legs, instead of their hands.
[C] Barrageis similar toRubber's[C] Rush.
If the user uses[C] Barrageand quickly switch fighting styles while holding it, they will be stuck in the animation.
Dark Step is the one of the only twofighting stylesto have four moves, the other being its successor,Death Step.
InUpdate 9Dark Step was almost renamed toFire Feet.
By equipping Death Step/Dark Step and climbing to a ladder, the user will climb with their legs instead of their hands, due to the user's hands being on their waist.
Dark Step is chronologically the first fighting style that the player can purchase.
Similar toDeath Step, Dark Step's[V] Overheatcan permanently be activated by usingGhoulv3 to ignore 40% of the final cooldown time. However, forDeath Step, the user needs to wait until the move expires, otherwise it will only disable the flames and they will need to wait longer to be able to use it again.
